Quality Fabrics
The fabrics we choose at Mercatores are the best on the market, and make our work clothes hard wearing, comfortable and practical.
Mercatores has also become successfully established among catering firms, restaurants and bars by specialising in the creation of uniforms for chefs, and suits for service staff, with aprons.
The quality of our fabrics and the care we take over our finishes have led to our firm being chosen by prestigious Italian hotels for their professional clothing, such as the Hotel Cipriani in Venice, the Locanda Cipriani in Torcello and the Hotel Splendid in Lugano, Switzerland.
We have produced a wide range of new colours since the seventies besides the traditional blue or black uniforms for waitresses, and white jackets for waiters: first burgundy and English green, then golden yellow, salmon, turquoise and red. We produce two annual collections: a spring/summer collection, which includes dresses for waitresses with small floral patterns, and an autumn/winter collection in which brown, beige and pearl grey make their appearance. The waitress’s dress can also be worn with an apron with sangallo lace ruffles and silk ribbon in a matching colour with matching headpiece.

Mercatores garments for the catering business are tested to withstand frequent washing.
We have always made our garments in Italy. The beauty of our fabrics and the skill of our seamsters make our garments of impeccable quality.
